Mrs. Plasencia and Mrs. Granados's classes from Von Renner Elementary School donated presents to the seniors during lunch today at the McConnell Center. They selected presents they thought the seniors might like and wrapped them themselves. Local Congressman Rep. Josh Harder attended this heart-warming event followed by a drive with School Board member RoseLee Hurst to deliver Meals on Wheels and more presents to our homebound seniors. Our hearts are bursting!
NCLUSD students know it’s better to give than to receive. OHS Interact students collected 15 stuffed animals for new children to love and 60 holiday cards were made and are ready to be shared with local hospitals❤️🩹 Way to go students!
Yolo Student Council held its first animal drive. Yolo raised 1,212 items to donate to the Newman Animal Shelter/Cause for Paws. In addition, Yolo raised $401.00 which will help support animals with necessary medical services. Way to go Yolo students!

The Yolo~Von Renner collaboration continued this year! Von Renner first grade students drew monsters and sent them to Yolo Art students. The Yolo students sewed stuffed monster replicas for the first graders and sent them over! The Yolo class zoomed in today to watch them open their deliveries and to answer questions. The class was filled with smiles, creativity and intelligence as art came to life! Thank you Ms. Meyers and Mrs. Sunde for providing your students with this experience.
