Beyond the Bell elections🗳held at Hunt and VR. Leadership opportunities abound!
Yolo students excelled at County competition for National History Day. Three of the four teams won medals and the other was an honorable mention.
Gold: Cynthia Hernandez and Carlos Gutierrez (not pictured) with a topic of Integration of Sports: Fritz Pollard. They built a website.
Gold: Connor Orr with a topic of Debate over The Bill of Rights. He built a website.
Silver: Kelly Zapien, Areli Neria and Cierra Kirk with a topic of Women’s Rights: The Seneca Falls Convention. They made a documentary.
Honorable Mention: 6th grader, Maya Hey, (not pictured) fearlessly made a documentary. Her documentary was Ship Safety: The RMS Titanic.
We are proud of all our Panthers! Job well done!
The three medaled teams will be moving on to State competition on May 6, 2022.

Newman Fire Department is at Von Renner this afternoon teaching the Beyond the Bell students all about fire safety. They will be visiting all of the elementary sites soon! 🚒
Today was the Barrington 🦅 AR Party. All students that made their AR goal enjoyed a Disney theme party. They got Mickey ears, a treat, played bingo and won prizes!
SCOE hosted the 36th Annual Occupational Olympics today and 530 students throughout the county participated. Orestimba student Heidi Lopez placed 2nd in the Criminal Justice event. Congrats to Heidi and all of the OHS students that participated. 🌟

All of our elementary schools celebrated Read Across America today with new books and guest readers! 📚Pictured here are guest readers Kim Bettencourt, Caralyn Mendoza, Nanci Fox and Board Member Rose Lee Hurst.
We received $15,000 in funding from GENYOUth for school feeding! We will be using these funds as equipment investments across the district, combined with other grant funds.
Thank you @AndrewZimmern, @CarlaHall and @ChefTimLove for teaming up with @GENYOUthnow, @BlueShieldCA and the @NFL to provide our school district with much-needed resources via Taste of the NFL that will help us keep our students fed!
